History of the Market

2024 – The Binghamton Farmers Market launches at Rec Park following an organizational overhaul. The market focuses on building community, supporting local food and agricultural businesses, and offering free, family-friendly programming.

2019–2023 – The market operates as the Binghamton Downtown Courtyard Market at the Metrocenter Courtyard on Tuesday evenings, with a mission centered on increasing access to healthy food in Binghamton’s urban food desert.

2010s – Prior to formal incorporation, the organization is run as a grassroots effort by friends of the market, bringing community together around fresh, local food in downtown Binghamton on Collier Street.
